2024 Tails from the Boneyard is a huge, frightening success!

The Historical Society of Cecil County celebrated the beginning of the holiday season by hosting Tails from the Boneyard, a cemetery walk which featured costumed historians, The Headless Horseman and, of course, the telling of local legend and lore… all in the most appropriate of historical settings!

The Historical Society of Cecil County has been awarded funding of $8000.00 through the Cecil County FY2025 Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) Local Community Grant Program. The Society plans on using this grant money to update our library and exhibit space.

The seal was updated on May 20,2008.

Kermit DeBoard Scholarship awarded to Yasmin Mestra-Gordillo

Last night at the monthly meeting of the Historical Society of Cecil County, the Kermit DeBoard Scholarship was awarded to Yasmin Mestra-Gordillo. She is a 2024 graduate of Elkton High School.
